At first, Shakespeare is hard to read, but after reading it over and over again, you start to understand what’s going on.
And then you realize that Shakespeare is really twisted.
At Shakespeare camp, one of our lecturers, the legendary Paul Menzer said that Shakespeare is like sex. For years you hear how great it is and then when you finally read it, it’s like “what’s all the fuss about?” You keep apologizing and having to look up words, but then when you figure out what you’re doing, your whole world explodes. And it feels, for lack of a better expression, fucking great.

GOSH YES, AUGH.
We should work together on something again. And get a bunch of other YCTC folks in on it. It has been far too long.
FOR REAL. It’ll be the 15th YCTC anniversary soon. Maybe they’ll do something.

YCTC folks, does this remind you of Ralph’s description of the Shakespeare statue that makes Shakespeare look like every stereotype of Romance poets? Because that’s all I can see.
